Femme Chakra Productions: Behind the Scenes : Oklahoma

I just started my second week of shows in the production of Oklahoma with Hudson Music Company. What a first week!!! It started off a little rough considering that on my way to opening night on Wednesday, I had a tire blow out on the 20 west. I have had a few flat tires before but never a blow out, sounded like my engine was exploding. After 4 months of practice, the last thing I wanted was to miss opening night (lol). A big thanks to JJ for coming to my rescue. I made it on time and the show went great.

The one thing about musical theater is that there is always unexpected mishaps that can occur at anytime. Needless to say, being back new to the theater, I had a few (lol). I can take it in stride and laugh about it but I really don`t recommend missing a cue or getting on stage when you are not supposed to be there (lol). Not known to the public, these mishaps are what make the theater so entertaining to the cast. The little moments that make you laugh, the smiles that are not supposed to be there and fumbles that occur during the shows are the memories and the learning experiences that stay with you forever. They really do make you grow as an artist if you can shrug them aside and laugh about them. The show must go on!

It has been an absolute pleasure working with the cast and crew of Oklahoma. Working full time and performing six 3-hour shows a week is exhausting and can take a toll on the body. The enthusiasm, the great personalities and positive energy is what makes this cast awesome. I really am proud that I am part of a team that is professional, talented and dedicated. Here`s to another great 2 weeks of performances. Love you guys xxoo.
