I first saw Lise Dion perform over 10 years ago on a New Years Eve TV special. I remember how much I laughed that night. Although I am perfectly bilingual, it is sometimes hard for me to follow certain french accents, her show was easy to understand, a great french comedy.
After 6 years, she is back with her new show ``Le Temps Qui Court``. With subjects ranging from menopause, weight issues, Viagra adventures, it is one laugh after another. I was surprised that while doing her ``Pop Academie`` skit, she proved to have a very nice voice. A little bit ironic that she did a comedic interpretation of a Ginette Reno song. I find such a resemblance between the two artists, both have such sincere attitudes, both real and honest. One of my favorite skits is called the ``L'incontournable Burka``(view below). She did bring a new rendition to the skit but I have to be honest, I still prefer the original.
All in all, it was great having her back on stage. It`s not easy doing a 2 hour one woman show. She`s still as funny and witty as ever and with her boundless energy and charisma, the show is bound to get rave reviews.
I had never been to the new District Dix/30 theatre, L`Etoile (click the name to preview), it is absolutely stunning. If ever you are in the neighborhood, the restaurant``Rouge`` (click to preview) is a great choice for Thai food. Thanks again to Micheline for joining me for a night out of laughter and great food.
